Apparel Skills Mapping and Upgrading in Vietnam

The World Bank Trade and Competitiveness Global Practice commissioned a series of skill diagnostic reports in Vietnam (2017) and Cambodia (2018). For these projects, I prepared two internal reports for the World Bank entitled Apparel Skills Mapping and Upgrading in Vietnam and Cambodia. These reports included an introduction to the global apparel industry and occupations, a brief analysis of each country’s position in the apparel GVC, a gap analysis of missing occupations and skills, and recommendations for improving skill gaps in the countries. This information was used as background for each country’s job diagnostics report. I gave a presentation at the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS) in Hanoi, Vietnam on May 17, 2017, on “Apparel Skills Mapping and Upgrading in Vietnam.”
